Showing God's Love to our Community

At the Bridge we are a church seeking to make God's love known in practical ways. Jesus said that he desires for us to "Love your neighbours as yourself." We aim to take Jesus' instructions to heart. As a church, we have been involved in several events in Kitsilano. Some of the events are ones which we sponsor and host and other are events where we simply volunteer. Below you will find a description of some of the events our Church has participated in and a some photos from each event.

Reach for the Goal Sports Camp

Each year we host a Sports Camp for children age 6-14. Our camp was held at Fraser Academy, which is located on westside of Vancouver in the Kitsilano Neighbourhood. Last year we had about 40 kids who participated in the camp. For some of these kids the sports camp is one of the highlights of their summer. At the camp we provide instruction in Soccer and Basketball. Beyond teaching skills in sports, we also teach the campers some character lessons as well. Last year at the camp our theme was "Be a Star". Each day we took time to encourage the campers to Be a Star in all areas of their lives, at school, at home, on the playing field and in their community.

We are making preparations for our sports camp for 2009. The dates of the Sports Camp are July 20-24. If you would like more information about the upcoming Sports Camp, please fill-out the form on our contact page

Vancouver Marathon

The Bridge passed out thousands of cups of water and Gatorade to the runners of the Vancouver Marathon and had a great time doing it.

Sunday morning is usually the time that The Bridge gathers for worship at the Vancouver Museum, but during the marathon they literally took The Bridge out into the streets by volunteering with the Vancouver Marathon at water station number 12, the 21 mile mark of the run. This year, nearly 40 people from The Bridge made it out to cheer runners on as they handed them a drink of water or cleaned the cups up as the runners went by.

This is the second year that the Bridge has been involved with the Vancouver Marathon
