The Bridge Church is Participating in Operation Christmas Child
What is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child, is carried out by Samaritan's Purse International. The gifts provided bring joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world.
How does it work?
Local churches like the Bridge, collect shoe boxes or pick up shoe boxes from one of the local sponsors like Safeway. After collecting the box, gifts are given to fill the boxes which are delivered to Samaritan's Purse. Samaratians Purse then takes the boxes and delivers them to local churches and charities around the world. In turn these charities and churches take the gifts to local families who are in difficult situations.
According to Samaratian's Purse, "last season, 661,530 shoe boxes from Canada were collected and distributed to children in more than 15 countries. Each gift is a special reminder to a child that he or she is loved."

How can you be involved?

1. Prayerfully consider how much you would like to donate to help fill a shoe box this Christmas. 2. Contact Laura Shephard on Sunday Morning at the Bridge Church or just ask someone there how you can make a donation. 3. Bring some of these items to church on Sunday to donate. Shoe Boxes or Shoe Box Fillers including School supplies small toys, Hygiene items, T-shirts, sunglasses, hair clips, hats. Please Do Not Donate the following items: liquids, food, breakables, used items, items that leak, freeze, or melt If you have questions about how you can participate, please contact the Bridge. |
You can still participate in Operation Christmas Child by... 1. Making a donation directly to Samaratian's Purse 90% of your donation will be used for gift giving purposes 2. Organize your friends or church to fill some shoebox's to send to other nations 3. Pack a shoe box yourself and deliver it to one of the Sponsor Locations. We are excited to participate in the project because we know that shoe boxes won't leave Vancouver without first making an impact on the people who pack them. The Operation Christmas Child project will help fosters compassion in families, individuals, and businesses by expanding their world view and showing how it is greater to give than to receive.
