As we seek to follow Jesus and fulfill his calling on our life, we are committed to three biblical priorities that serve to guide and guard our purpose.
First, we are committed to the gospel
The whole Bible reveals God’s unfolding plan of redemption. At the centre of God’s plan is the person and work of Jesus Christ. Through the incarnation, sinless life, substitutionary atonement, bodily resurrection, and glorious ascension of God’s Son, salvation for sinners is secured and made freely available to all who believe. Through our ongoing commitment to the good news about Jesus Christ, our lives are being shaped by the grace, hope, and truth that are abundantly found in Him.
Second, we are committed to community
It’s easy to miss the importance of community in our individualistic consumer culture. But, the Bible clearly teaches that it’s impossible to follow Jesus on our own. Discipleship must be learned and lived in fellowship with others. As members of a local church, we seek to embody the gospel message of God’s grace, forgiveness, and love in the way we treat one another: setting aside selfishness, and learning to serve others sacrificially in order to know Christ even as we seek to make Him known.
Third, we are committed to the mission
As a community of disciples who believe the good news about Jesus Christ, we are committed to God’s mission to redeem a people for himself from every tribe and tongue. We seek practical ways to demonstrate and declare the grace of God through Jesus Christ to our neighbours and to the nations. We desire to see people come to know the forgiveness and freedom that Jesus alone can give. We are eager to see healthy churches planted in Vancouver, in Canada, and among the nations.
