BRIDGE KIDS & SUNDAY SERVICES

What is Bridge Kids?
Bridge Church is a vibrant congregation filled with many young families. In fact, one third of our community are children! We believe time during church services for kids should be a fun, and engaging time for children.  Bridge Kids exists to help children grow in their Christian faith and relationship with Jesus Christ through Sunday programming, Home Group engagement, and equipping families for faith at home.
What is Bridge Kids like on a Sunday?
Check In: Please see one of our amazing greeters to check your kids in at the beginning of the service. We will need some basic information so they can get a name tag. The name tag will have their information as well as a security code. You will also get a paper with the security code. You will need to present that paper (original or picture on your phone) when you pick your child up at the end of the service. Please check in every time you come to Bridge Church Sunday Service.

Safety and Protection: All volunteers are trained and screened according to our Safe Church policies. Volunteers and staff for best practices to keep children and youth safe. All volunteers have submitted clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks to the ministry lead and have been trained in abuse prevention policies and protocol. If you have any questions regarding Safe Church Policies or procedures email Shayla at shayla@bridgechurch.ca
Curriculum: The Gospel Project provides theological yet practical, age-appropriate Bible studies that immerses your entire church in the story of the Gospel, helping to develop a Gospel culture that leads to Gospel-mission.

Please Note: For the safety and well-being of all children, younger siblings are not permitted to attend an older sibling's classroom. As a temporary accommodation for first-time guests or children who are having difficulty transitioning into Sunday School, an older sibling may accompany a younger sibling in their classroom for a limited time, at the discretion of our ministry leaders.
** At the beginning of each school year (typically in early September), children are placed in the Bridge Kids class that best suits their age and grade level for the upcoming school year. **
(i.e. Children entering Kindergarten in September will move up from the preschool class and join the Kindergarten -Grade 3 class, that September.)

Sunday Programming: Children need to be checked-in, using our church system, volunteers are available to help you set up your family in our system.  Then please drop your children off in Nursery to grade 3 in the Bridge Kids room just prior to the beginning of the service.

Bridge Nursery: Children starting when they reach 6 months through 2 years can be dropped off with our nursery volunteers. We encourage parents to ensure their child has used the bathroom or arrive with a clean diaper. Volunteers will not be changing diapers and you will be contacted for any diapering needs.

Bridge Preschool: Kids 3-5 can be dropped off on the Nursery side of the Bridge Kids space. They will join the other kids for worship and have their own lesson taught to them at their level. They will have a craft that ties into the Bible story, toys, and games.

Bridge Elementary: We have kids (Kindergarten -grade 4) together for a time of large group teaching filled with times of free play, energetic kids worship music, Bible stories, games, and crafts.

Harvest 5/6's: Grade 5-6 kids join the adults for worship and are then dismissed for their own class where they will spend time studying the Bible together. Once a month (typically the last Sunday of the month) kids have the opportunity to either serve in a ministry or attend the main service.
If kids want to participate in the Kids Serve weekends, they must sign up ahead of time. Please find Shayla or the weekend classroom teacher to learn more or get a sign-up form.
Please contact Shayla, the Director of Childrens Ministry, at shayla@bridgechurch.ca for more information or if you would like to volunteer with the Bridge Kids Ministry. You can also connect with Shayla or one of the other volunteers on a Sunday if you have any questions!
