Roman society promoted a social infrastructure that was rife with abusive systems of power. The result was broken marriages and families. In his letter to the Ephesians, the Apostle Paul spoke of a different kind of marriage. Calling both husband and wife towards sacrificial love - a Christian vision of marriage is both counter-cultural and deeply refreshing.
